Summarize Written Text
PTE Summarize Written Text
Summarize written text is the first task in the PTE Writing section, which
is seen after you finish the PTE Speaking section. As a result, when you see
the Summarize Written Text task on the screen, it will present you
with a reading text that needs to be summarized into a single sentence between
five and 75 words. In general, the reading text consists of 150-200 words and
you are given 10 minutes to complete it. Similarly, if you get two Summarize Written Text questions and
one Write Essay question, then the total time for the writing section is 40
minutes. To accomplish this task,
you should focus entirely on summing up the passage into a single complex
sentence.
PTE Summarize Written Text Tips
For the Summarize Written Text task,
the expectation is to produce a single sentence that is compound and complex,
meaning it has a main clause and one or more supporting clauses. A good reader
means you can quickly read the passage and understand it well. If you lack
reading skills, you should first focus on improving them. The next Summarize Written Text Tip is to take
notes from your reading. Not only should you write down 6-8 keywords and key
phrases, but also should you write down the main idea of the passage, the theme
that the passage is based on. Next, summarize these keywords and phrases into a
single sentence. Normally, we encourage test takers to use their own writing
style, but if you're not sure about your English skills, you may also use one
of our Templates.
Summarize Written Text Template
Based on your skill level in English and
your target scores, we have two types of Summarize
Written Text Template to choose from. The first is targeted for people who
need scores between 40 and 60. The second is targeted for people who need

is for you to write your own sentence using the strategy we suggest, so you can
